Chadar Poshi
Among these, the most emotional is the chadar Offering at the Mazar Sharif, Families, individuals, and groups place decorated cloths over the tomb of the saint as a sign of devotion and love.
Langar and Deg
Historic are the Degs (giant cooking cauldrons) at Ajmer Sharif Contact. Langar is cooked in them and served free of charge to all visitors, without requiring any distinction of caste, creed or religion. The sharing of food at the shrine goes with the saint's equality message.
Chatti Sharif (6th Day)
Chatti Sharif is the sixth day of Urs. This day is of great significance because devotees believe that the spiritual energy blessings are maximum on this day. Numerous prayers, recitations of the Quran, and presentations (of food and drink) are given.
Namaz-e-Jummah
The Friday prayer at Urs draws thousands of followers. When prayed together, this prayer blossoms into a spirit of unity and hope.
Bara Qul (Final Day)
It ends in Bara Qul, the last piece of the Urs. Supplementary reading: Mention of Quran verses and prayer for peace and mercy by devotees. The Dargah is then washed with rose water, symbolising a spiritual end to the festival.
Qawwali and Sufi Music
Devotional qawwali sessions are conducted at the Dargah complex every evening. Respected qawwals sing devotional verses in praise of Allah and of Khwaja Garib Nawaz. The sound as a tear jerker reaches and spiritual bliss moves.
Khatam Sharif
This involves the recitation of Noorani Quran in full from the premises of the shrine. And Reading Daroodo Salam, Ayate Karima, Shijra Sharif Chishtiya Silsila, Khatam E Khawajagan and and esoteric It is hoped that the above will be a Blessing for the entire Ummah and all those Names attached to the duas.
Chirag Roshan (Lighting of Lamps)
At the shrine, candles and oil lamps are lit to represent enligtenment, guidance and purity of the soul.
